Be Prepared for FCC Preparedness Summit…
This is not a test, this is for real. The FCC wants you to be prepared for a pandemic or any other first response necessity by holding a summit in September. The focus of the summit will be on communications and coordination between the health care sector, first responders, government and industry in preparation for a pandemic. The panel will also look for ways to expand how the communications industry can serve an instrumental role in the event such a response is necessary…
The summit will be open to the public but admittance will be limited to the seating available in the Commission Meeting Room. If you’d like to pre-register for the Tuesday, September 16th, 9 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. meeting, go to: http://www.fcc.gov/pshs/summits/pandemic. The deadline for pre-registration is Friday, September 12th…
If you can’t get in, audio/video coverage of the meeting will be broadcast live with open captioning over the Internet from the FCC’s web page at: www.fcc.gov/realaudio. The webcast is free to the public and does not require pre-registration…
I’m thinking that the FCC is probably relieved to be doing what they were designed to do rather than act on proposed mergers or play radio cop. Some might say it’s about time…
