A Streamer’s Paradise…
Monday, December, 29, 2008 by Mel Phillips.
If, like me, you won’t settle for less than local radio, do I have a website for you. It’s called Radio-Locator.com and it’s guaranteed to transport you to streamer’s heaven. With links to over 10,000 radio station web pages and over 2,500 audio streams from radio stations in the U.S., Canada and around the world, it’s streaming nirvana on earth. You can find any radio station by city, zip or call letters. Internet stations can be found by format or country…
Radio-Locator is MP3 and satellite radio compatible if you require an unused frequency on the FM dial. It also has station coverage maps showing strength of signals and a widget that provides a travel guide with 10 major cities pre-loaded and available for hand-held devices. You can add or delete cities from there…
So what’s the draw-back? It’s not the fee, there is none. Ah, here we go. The website doesn’t list shows, just radio stations and sorry, no networks or shortwave radio stations are listed. Not a steep price to pay for spending a day listening to local stations you haven’t heard in awhile. My thanks to the Los Angeles Times for opening my eyes and local-seeking ears…
