Fans of National Public Radio will now have their own wireless radio which will give them access to more than 1,000 NPR station streams and more than 800 podcasts and audio archives of NPR programs. This calls for a wine and cheese party. Break out the good dinnerware — it’s time to celebrate. You NPR people no longer have to be intimidated by the notion of buying an “Internet radio.” The new Livio radio even has a feature that allows you to store stations from around the world through the Reciva Internet radio service and it comes with your very own “my NPR” button on the front of the radio and that’s not all…

NPR director of consumer products and e-commerce Barbara Sopato says NPR is thinking beyond their core 50+ listener: “We are (also) thinking about that younger audience that is adopting all of the new technology as well as our core audience.” There is no subscription fee required and the radio is compatible for MP3 players.
